When transgender people started to face historic levels of hateful legislation in 2022, Strands For Trans mobilized again. The mission: to expose unjust politicians for the filth that they are, and to dress them down in a way that only Strands For Trans could: by heckling their hair.Working with pop culture icon Billy Porter and influencer Lynae Vanee, we launched #TransphobeTakedowns, a series of razor-sharp roasts of infamous Texas transphobes, Gov. Greg Abbott and Sen. Ted Cruz.
